Its AiFactory Challenge Day! Who is Hungry!!

It appears that AiFactory wants us to be challenged yet again this week. We were given the most beautiful recipe cards to play with in PDF format,

and the challenge set was to share our favourite recipes. Now that said I love food, and have quite a few favourite recipes! I wanted to stick to the theme of the recipe cards given to us, which was Fruity! So I went with Avocado (Guacamole) Watermelon Salad and Orange Mayonaise! I used photoshop to add the wording to the files, some of the other DT members used Word to add wording (i couldnt figure out how!). I have put eyelets into each card as I plan to pop these recipes onto a ring and add to them as I get time. I was going to put them in a bind it all folder type set up but then I realised I wouldnt be able to add more recipes.. thus limiting myself!

So who is up for the challenge of sharing your favourite recipe, of course on a recipe card... I am already hungry so don't make the recipes too deliscious ok! It wont help my diet.
As always with the AiFactory its not necessary to use an AiFactory image but we would love to see as many AiFactory images as possible, with that said Freebies can be found at the AiVault. Post your entries to AiFactory Challenge Blog by Wednesday Midnight EST. If you would like to upload your photos to forums like PCP, SCS and AiF be sure to tag your project with AiF 025,  Aifactory etc. If you need some more idea's on how to use these wonderful images the Design Team is waiting for your visit, all their blog links are on my side bar.

AiFactory Challenge

Welcome to my Design Team addition to this weeks AiFactory Challenge.  As always with the AiFactory its not necessary to use an AiFactory image but we would love to see as many AiFactory images as possible, with that said Freebies can be found at the AiVault.  Post your entries to AiFactory Challenge Blog by Wednesday Midnight EST.  If you would like to upload your photos to forums like PCPSCS and AiF be sure to tag your project with AiF ###, (challenge number) Aifactory etc.  If you need some more idea's on how to use these wonderful images the Design Team is waiting for your visit, all their blog links are on my side bar.

This weeks challenge is to design a 3d project, we were given a pdf 2010 Vintage Look Calender which can be found at the AiVault with circular details and bird images for each month.

We were not limited to using the calender pages, we could cut them up and use whatever image or element we wished!  I however liked the calender idea.  I printed my images on 6*4inch cardstock which gave me two calender months to a page and I cropped them right down to fit into the booklet I created.  I added a small photo page on the lid of the book (but im yet to find a photo to pop in there.) I even managed to use some little beads that I had no idea what to do with until now!  I tried the closure with beads and wire but it didnt look very good.. so it was back to ribbons and ties!  Thanks for visiting my blog and i look forward to looking at all your entries in the challenge!

Mothers Day Card

Well I got up early and took the kids to school, did an hour of exercise, NO Housework.. and then popped into the craft room to play with my free images from Delightful Inspiration.  I wasnt quite sure what to use this image for this week, I decided on Mother's day, which for us in Australia is still a few months off.  Im quite happy with the finished product, I would of liked the punched flowers to stand out a little more, they are well and truly stuck down though!
What else, oh I got some new paper to try my copics on, its watercolour paper that was on special at Spotlight.. Im not sure if I like it or not, it tended to take the ink and not blend it (most likely as its watercolour paper so quite porous!)
I played along with Cooking it up with Katie this week, and am now wondering if I will also apply for her DT Call.  She has a real knack of setting the bar for the challenge just a little bit higher.  This week her challenge is a recipe of,Something girly,Paper Piecing, At least 2 designer/patterned papers.  You can add more than that but you have to include those things at a minimum.  I hope that me using a Decoupage technique is considered paper piecing.. (fingers crossed!) I printed my image twice and cut out the teapot, coloured it and then used Glossy Accents over the pot for some shine.
I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday this week for my card layout. And used Word to make the mothers day sentiment as I didnt have a small mother's day stamp to use.

I have my Aifactory post heading your way this afternoon, I think its a nice twist on the use of new images! Stay tuned for that one!

Just a little fun

I just finished a card for the Clearly Delightful Challenge Blog and this months theme is DUCKS!  I grabbed the free image to use on this card from the AiFactory.  I wanted to make a card for a birthday (no child in mind) just to have it on hand for future events! I used a Martha Stewart punch for the Dare you to Digistamp challenge blog, and my oval nests for the alphabet challenge blog (although im late to enter that one) Thanks for popping by!

Creatalicious Challenges

Well the time has come, my first DT post for Creatalicious Challenges.
I have to tell you I have been nervous  as the other DT girls are more than just brilliant!
I am taking advantage of their knowledge and learning along with you all as I play along
on the DT team.  I am sure like myself  that you are all inspired by their wonderful work.
If you are looking for the other DT girls, they are all linked on my  side bar.
Please go and visit them all, they are waiting for your visit.

Our challenge this month was an idea from Abby on the DT
"Create A Little Something" - this can be taken how you please..
I had a brilliant idea in my head for this challenge that involved
a bootie, vintage/distress looks and the like but I just couldn't nail it.
So I changed my mind and went for the card below.  Its totally different
to what the other DT's came up with.. I think i need to work on my
imagination a bit more!  I am however happy with it and I had a beautiful
new baby in mind when I created it.

My image is from Lindsaysaysstamp and it works well with the old
theme I was going for.  I absolutely love the beads that I found
in the local photo shop, they are even prettier in real life.
Now, to point out the obvious..
small patterned DP, small dots embossing, the beautiful
small beads and of course the rattle!  But best of all
my card is baby themed.. and they are little and small and
lets face it short!

Delightful Inspiration - Week 2

Well Deligthful Inspiration (Designed 2 Delight) has done it again and wowed me with their free image for the week.  I had some fun on Wednesday with my friend Deby colouring and playing with these designs.  She used my prisma pencils and mineral spirits to colour and I used my Copics.  Something very relaxing about crafting with a friend... Deby has only just started blogging more regularly, so please pop in and visit her when you get a chance.

This card will be going into my card collection for one of my daugthers, its horrible to admit but often they get a gift card with their presents instead of a card I made.. how horrible is that!  This year however will be different!  Watch out kids!
I received some embossing plates this week from Alisa  at De-signsmadebyme that she ordered in for me.. I did use one on this card and its stunning, unfortuantly I really need to work on the embossing being visible.. thinner card stock would of worked better than this textured type.  My dear little cuttlebug is getting a big workout lately! Thats good though right!

Challenges that this card is going to play in are as follows
S2G Challenges - Birthdays
Your next stamp -  Charms
Abc Challenges - N is for new (my image)
Belli Challenge - Ribbons

Delightful Inspiration (freebie) Week 1 and multi challenges!

Well what a wet and miserable day in Sydney, I came home from a craft night at a friends last to a world of WET in my suburb!  Peoples houses have flooded.. and they report having streams in their backyards.. apparently a lot of water hit the Blue Mountains last night and neither my husband nor myself were home to witness it!  Thankfully our house was fine!

I made this card last night at my friends house and had a different image on it.. but I went to bed and thought...hmm I think the other image I want to work with will look better..so this morning I took it apart and tried again!  I may need to take another photo of this card as the angle makes it a little hard to see.
The image is a free design from Designed to Delight at Delightful Inspiration, if you are yet to visit Faith at Delightful Inspiration, please do.  She does a progressive challenge and each week if you participate you get another free image.  Let her know Penny sent you.  My sketch is from Friday Sketchers, it grabbed me the moment I saw it.
Other challenges for this card are:-
ABC Challenges -New (the image)
C.R.A.F.T - Valentine/Love
Dareu2digistamp- Hearts/Valentine (the heart is a brad/embossing and the owls are the valentine)
Pile it on- No more winter colours
Bee Crafty - Romance/Love theme + Digi (i got it right this time!)
Creative Bell - Ribbons
Double Dutch - Be my Valentine
Pollycraft challenge blog - things with Wings (how perfect was the timing of this challenge with this image!)
Creative Card Crew - Valentine's
La-La Land Crafts - use Hearts
Charisma Cardz - I love you
Belli Challenge - Ribbons

I know this isnt a traditional Valentine's type of card, but I am really not a Valentine's type of girl.. so two owls sitting on a stick together is my compromise and hey the hearts and loads of pink has to help right?

thanks for stopping in!
