Reluctantly i say... Anything Goes

This week at Aud Sentiments Challenge we are sponsored by the wonderful Artistic Sassy Cheryl and I loved colouring in the image I was given.   We were given the theme of Anything goes but i think this fellow lends himself to a christmas card, dont you?  I kept the card quite simple as this image should be the star.. and he was printed up quite big..  so he takes centre stage.. very unlike me to keep things so clean and simple but I like it.   I used a stampin up sentiment stamp with stampin up markers for the know that i care and the rest is copics.  What are you going to do for this challenge... I can see that Im going to be typing up many comments for this one... those anything goes challenges really get people participating!

Non Christmas Colours

How are you all going with Christmas creations, If the Shoe Fits would like to see some NON Christmas colour creations this week... this means NO RED or GREEN.    You would think that is easy right?  I actually kept on reaching for green toned papers... This card started with the glittery embellishments... and then I had to try and work those into flat, matt card stock.. I looked at my stamps for a while and thought... Hmmm emboss.. glitter, overlap... and i went a little bit Tim Holtz... teach me for watching his 12 tags of xmas video's wont it.  Now dont get too excited I did say just a little bit.  I actually really enjoyed the process of double embossing and seeing the effects.  Im not to sure that my colour choices are ideal, I think this would look awesome with vintage papers for the tree.. i may just make another one in browns and the like and less bling.. stay tuned!

Prairie Fairy at Aud Sentiments - Anything Holiday

This challenge at Aud Sentiments is sponsored by Prairie Fairy and i grabbed this image and knew I wanted to use it for a New Year Card.  Now I know this is an odd choice for a card but don't you think this image is just perfect for a Mum or busy women is in need of a relaxing new year!!

Now i just have to remember to post this to a busy Woman, hopefully when she looks at it she will know someone was thinking of her...
So are you ready to jump in on this challenge?
Anything Holiday is our theme
Looking forward to seeing you over at the Challenge Blog

This week at "if the shoe fits" we are after winter themed cards... i always get a bit stuck with winter theme... because for most of the world.. winter means COLD and Christmas but for me it means.. June and fireplaces.. staying inside and not christmas.   I decided to go with Northern Hemisphere Christmas... as I am nearly going to be there for a white christmas... We arrive on the 17th January so we are a few weeks out.. but im sure that that white christmas feel will still be in the air!.. Or I hope it will be.

Pop on over to the challenge blog and have a look at the other DT creations and link up your wonderful work so we can get to have a look and be inspired.  I just finished my DT card for our next challenge and im all excited... I went a little bit Tim Holtz on it... (little bit...)

Aud Sentiments - Anything Holiday

This week at Aud Sentiments we are very happy to be sponsored by Polka Doodles, I absolutely love the image I got to play with.    I got to try colouring a snowman... do you know how hard it is to colour something thats meant to be white!  I even got my sewing machine out and did some stitching, as you can tell im out of practice.. look how crooked that stitching is!
Our theme is challenge is Anything Holiday
You can play with this challenge as much as you like, I however decided to go for Christmas.
I quite like that this card isnt the normal green and red that I would normally use.  I even managed to dig into the stash and grab dew drops for the bling.. I had the right colours luckily.

So what are you going to do for this challenge, which holiday are you going to choose?

Be sure to head on over to the Aud Sentiments Blog and link up your creations, I look forward to seeing them.

Dude Time Doodles carries all of your crazy "Dude" card needs. We work exclusively with the artists at Bonibleaux Designs to bring you guy images and ideas for those hard to make cards for the "Dudes" in your life.

Card Makin Mama's Challenge

This week at the Card Makin Mama's we are happily sponsored by Crafty Sentiments Designs and we were given some images and sentiments to play with.. your job this challenge is however to "use a sentiment"
We are looking forward to seeing your links over on the Card Makin Mama's challenge blog

Thankful

If the Shoe fits "Fashionista Friday" brings you a new challenge this week and that is simply to be thankful, thats it... create a project and make the theme all about Thanks.
We don't celebrate thanksgiving over here in Australia so my project is more "thanks" than thankful.   I created the whole card on my die cutter machine and coloured the Teddybo image with copics.
Looking forward to seeing your projects over on the If the Shoe Fits challenge blog!

Piece of pie

This week we are sponsored by the lovely Meljen designs. And our recipe is punch, emboss and ink. What can you create for this challenge?

Giving Thanks with Aud Sentiments

Its challenge time at Aud Sentiments.
We were sponsored by the wonderful Wee Stamps.

I used an image called Silver Fairy and isnt she beautiful.

I had such fun creating this card, I had a friend playing with my copics, while I sat on the other side of the room playing with colours and combinations.
What is it about crafting with friends that just makes the day better?

The rest of the design team would love you to visit their personal blogs to see their creations, and please be sure to link your projects to the
so we can all stop by your blogs to see your creations.

I am also going to play in the If the shoe fits (try something new) and Card Making Mama's (give thanks) challenges this week.
The try something new is the feathering technique in the fairy wings, I quite like the effect and the card is a thank you card for the mama's.
And Ill also pop over to Simon Say Stamp and show off my thank you card

Remember the theme for this challenge is Thanksgiving/Thank You and don't forget.. have lots of fun creating!

Cooking it up with Katie

We are lucky enough to be sponsored by Digital Delights this week and we are cooking with the ingredients of Christmas, tags and die cuts.

I did all my cuts on my cougar, loving this machine more and more every time I use it.

Looking forward to seeing your versions of the recipe, be sure to link up on the challenge blog so we can comment on your work.

Where are your shoes???

Guess what... my shoes are on my feet.  Maybe being on the DT for "If the Shoe fits" is having some effect on me.  Not only are my shoes on my feet... im actually using them... ie exercising!...eeek....what will become of me!

Ok onto things more serious, how is everyone going with their creations for the card drive over on the If the Shoe fits challenge blog?  I have a little stash of creations to send off... Im happy that I can contribute.   Im even sending this DT card.

Now some of the cool things about being on a Design Team is being introduced to new people and new websites, companies and products.  This week I am thrilled to introduce you to Beary Scrap Paper Crafting Boutique.

I was sent a  supply kit filled with the most yummy Mulberry Papers, and three little template kids and tools.  How spoiled am I feeling right about now!

Now here are the three patterns I got sent,

and here are my two favourites... (guess who is going to order them...hmmm)

The bear just above reminds me of tattered teddy's or forever friends... either way he is cute!  and those that know me will laugh at my love of the owl... what is it with owls that fascinate me?

anyway moving on.. I do hope that I did this little piggy justice..  I think the hardest part was the eyes.. Eyes add emotion and i didnt want her to be a cranky pig!  Also, do you realise how hard it is to create a sentiment that refers to a pig?  Maybe I should of used it as a Congrats card for friends that are dieting.. (my friends to have queer senses of humour..so it would be funny)

So... you have read all of my ramble .. your reward is to discover our challenge.. and no its not writing a novel.
If the Shoe Fits challenge would like you to
Try Something New
my something new is mulberry paper creations and I attempted to create a scene.  I have a little trouble with perspective at times but I think I nailed it this time..

so now its your turn... head on over to the challenge blog and get all the details... and link link link...

And please be sure to visit our sponsor, they will be very happy to see you pop in

Im also playing in the Crafting for all seasons challenge of "texture"

Card Makin Mama's are Giving Thanks

This week at the Card Makin Mama's we would like to see your Thank you, Thanksgiving, Give thanks cards.  I kept mine very simple this week... A few reasons... Im way behind on my crafting and I liked the idea of white space.   Often I forget how nice it is to have a simple card.   What do you think of this one?   I used my gelly roller metalic in the Cougar to create the vellum butterfly, it cut perfectly.  I tell you I love this machine more and more every time I use it.  It just appears to know the right thing to do!

Oh what else... I have finally started using Picassa Albums.  If I had known it was that easy to store your photos online and then upload to blogs, I would of done it sooner.  Ive even just purchased an ipad app that will allow me to use the ipad camera and upload straight to picassa.   I did fail to check if the app allowed editing though... hmmm.  stay tuned for that one.

So this week we are sponsored by Some Odd Girl, have you checked out their blog!!

So.. how are you going to be inspired to give thanks with this challenge?  Be sure to head on over to the Card Makin Mama's challenge blog and link up your creations so we can all see.

I am going to contribute this card to the Card Drive being held over at the If the Shoe fits challenge blog.  Please go over and read, and participate if at all possible.   You have all month to participate in that drive.
Im also playing in the Aud Sentiments challenge of Give Thanks
Pile it on - Give thanks

Cooking it up with Fancy Folded Flowers

This week at Cooking it up with Katie we are sponsored by Robyns Fetish and our recipe is Flowers, Fancy, Folds.. I really enjoyed this challenge.  I tried to recreate  some flowers I saw on Katies blog a few weeks ago and failed miserably.. and then decided to use some doily's that I cut on my cougar and I love the finished product.  I realised after the glue dried that my button moved... oh well.
Now.. this little box is filled with Hershey kisses (i was so happy to find those for sale at Costco ( my new favourite place to shop in sydney... pity its so far away)  I hadnt realised kisses were so little and cute, but I saw a bulk bag for sale and thought they would be perfect for xmas gift giving.  This little box will be the beginning of my treat boxes that I am going to give to teachers, neighbours etc.

What do you think you will create for this challenge, we are looking forward to seeing your creations over on the cooking it up blog!

Please read back on my last post to read about the card drive at If the Shoe fits..

If the Shoe fits Challenge and CARD DRIVE

This week we have some important info for you, a short challenge and a card drive.  The challenge for one week is very simple... We want to see your Keep it Simple Cards... how easy is that.  Head on over to the If the Shoe fits challenge blog to link up your cards.  Now read on.. about the card drive.  Its running from Nov 7th till Dec 8th, so there is no excuse not to consider donating to the drive.  How many cards do you have in your stash that are without a recipient??
I have copied the card drive info straight from the If the Shoe Fits blog...  I know that I will be sending off a package, what a great cause!

We would like to kick off our own little "Season of Giving."  During the month of November, we are asking you to contribute cards to the Season of Giving Card Drive. We have chosen to collect cards to donate to the Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Virginia.  Our lovely Shoe, Cammi, first brought us this idea a few weeks ago, and we've been doing a little bit of work behind the scenes to see what all needed to happen in order to conduct this card drive properly.  So first...let me let Cammi explain a little bit about the thoughts behind this card drive:

Being in the hospital is difficult for the not only the patient, but also the patient’s family.  While spending time with your loved one in the hospital it quickly becomes apparent how precious time is.  I work at a children’s hospital and have watched families struggle with trying to be able to be in so many places at one time.  I have watched mothers struggle with the desire to go and pick up a get well card for their sick family member or a thank you card for the doctor or nurse who helped them through their toughest time; but not wanting to leave their loved ones bedside.

So here's how it will work...for all Fashionista Friday challenges between today (Nov. 7th) and Dec. 8th, we ask that when you enter a card in our challenges, that you consider sending in the cards for our SOG Card Drive.  Cards (with envelopes please) can be mailed to Cammi at the following address:

Cammi Boddie
4520 St John Ct
Virginia Beach, VA 23455

and to let you know a little bit more about what we'll be doing during the Season of Giving...I'll let Tanisha explain this part:

CHKD that stands for Children's Hospital of the Kings Daughters.  Every year they hold a radiothon to raise money for the children's hospital.  Well yours truly, thats right Lesley, Cammi and Tanisha will be there volunteering the night of December 9th answering phones and taking pledges.  Here is a quick little blurb from the website:  Tune in to 94.9 The Point December 7th-10th as Chuck and Woo-Woo broadcast their 10th Annual Radiothon to benefit CHKD. Hear amazing stories of CHKD patients who overcame great odds to survive illnesses and traumatic events. The event will be broadcast live from the CHKD lobby. Call 668-9000 during the event to make your pledge and help the children!

I would really love for you all to read history on this fantastic hospital by clicking here.

So there you have it...the Shoe SOG!  Hopefully you will all play along with us during the month of November, and then mail your cards in for the CHKD!  If you have ANY questions about this card drive, email us at iftheshoefits5@gmail.com and we will answer them!

Can you cook ...Anything but a card?

So another week has passed, where did that time go?  This week at Cooking it up with Katie we were asked to make anything but a card.. I got all excited and wanted to make those fancy pants candles you see on blogs, you know the coloured images embedded on a candle, I think they are fantastic.  I got as far as finding instructions, realising i didnt have tissue paper and not being bothered to go and buy some.. and heading to plan B..
Plan B was to be a box... a box however  didnt turn out how i wanted it too.. I completed it and even took photos... and wasnt overly thrilled...

so next plan C... which is below.

I covered a cereal box with design paper and let it dry and then cut out a chocolate box on my cutter, stuck it all together and decorated it and of course filled it with chocolates..  Very hard to get a good photo of this.  I distressed the edges, coloured the silver embellishment copper and added some ink to the cream flowers, I even used my martha punch on the bottom to add some paper lace..

Im sitting here looking at both photos with a giggle, talk about colour confusion between one project and the next.. its like walking from a circus to a fancy hotel in one blink.

Anyway, its now your turn to show us what you have got... remember anything but a card!

We are sponsored by Gingerloft this week at Cooking it Up, so head on over to the Challenge blog and link up your creations, we cant wait to stop by to be inspired!
I'm also playing with
Creatalicious - Distress your edges
Charizma Cardz - Anything Goes

Die Cuts at Card Makin Mama's

This week at Card Makin Mama's we are dying to tell you what the challenge is, its simply cutting edge... yeah Ok thats a pretty sad pun, sorry!
We are using Die Cuts this week, I managed to use 6 individual shapes in mine, can you find them all?

My image is from Saturated Canary, a company that is new to me but somewhere I will be visiting again.  We got to choose our images and it was so hard to pick just one to play with.  This is why I will be back choosing more very soon...  Please go and visit the Saturated Canary  site, you will be thrilled with what you find.

So who is already picturing their creation in their minds, what images are you going to use, what die cuts have you got in mind... please link up on the challenge blog so we can all come by and visit you, and check the Card Makin Challenge blog to see what prizes may be up for grabs this week.

Getting Funny with Aud Sentiments

I had a ball with this challenge, I knew what I wanted to do from the moment I saw the available images and the theme!  There is a little bit of a story behind this card... grab a cuppa and settle in!
My lovely friend Deby had her 40th Celebrations way back when she was younger...oh no.. just two years ago... and she was a tad silly in asking me to look after her camera!  I had been drinking fruit tingle cocktails for a few hours before this and thought nothing of taking of photo of my bra... unknown to me was the fact that the next day she proudly displayed her party photos to her mum and dad... and they flick across this photo and with a laugh say "whose on earth are they'.... I had taken this photo and it purely showed up with my skin colouring, bra colour and my top colour... they had no idea it was me, as it was winter and my outer layered top was a totally different one to the one in this photo...  I had to tell her it was me and didnt I pay for it... she then proceeded to make a whole scrapbooking layout with the photos!  Which you can decide to click on or not..HERE. she actually did a really great layout... needless to say I wish i always looked that good!

How is that cuppa going... I did tell you there was a story involved!
Now for this weeks card for Aud Sentiments, this card is for Deby.  She is having surgery in November and I thought this would give her a laugh.. she will get the joke immediately!
We were lucky enough to be sponsored by Bugaboo Digital Stamps for this challenge, please stop by the other DT members and look at their creations too, we look forward to your comments but especially seeing your creations.  The sky is the limit with this challenge, who doesnt like a funny card!

The challenge blog can be found HERE and Bugaboo is HERE

Ok.. thanks for listening I hope you got a giggle from my little rant... that story makes me smile whenever I think of it!

And the recipe we are cooking today

This week at Cooking it up with Katie our recipe is
Red
Ribbons
Rows

I really enjoyed playing with this theme and knew I wanted to do a Xmas card as soon as I saw the recipe.

I bought this image from Digital Delights by LouLou (our lovely sponsor, who gave us other images.. but I really had to use this guy, as I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him... Go and buy him you know you want too.   Its going to be on many of my christmas cards this year... be warned!

I really love this card.. from start to finish I enjoyed making it and instead of adding more and more to it, i decided to leave it as is, once i put the image and the sentiment on.. I purposely did the patterned papers off centre.. just to have a deeper red border on one side.

Looking forward to seeing your creations, and being inspired!  See you over at the Cooking it up Blog

New Shoes

If you jumped onto this blog for the Card Makin Mama's blog hop, click the picture directly below to jump to the blog hop post.

Those of you that know me personally will get a laugh from my post title....I hardly even wear shoes, its not odd to see me barefoot and i've even been known to go away on holidays and get to our destination minus shoes on my feet or even packed.   So why on earth mention shoes you ask.
Well its because I am absolutely THRILLED to announce that Im a new shoe at If the Shoe Fits Scrap It...  perhaps they will inspire me to put some shoes on, or perhaps I will be in the craft room barefoot, relaxed and colouring!

Im coming in a little late for the current challenge at If the Shoe fits
we want to see how you are inspired by HALLOWEEN and/or FALL.
This is a little hard for me, as its definitely not Fall (Autumn) over here in Australia and we don't really celebrate Halloween.. so what did I come up with.

Well I chose an image that actually reminded me of Easter, which does fall in our Autumn months but i don't really give people easter cards that much.  So I went with Autumn colours, an image that certainly could be considered Halloween inspired (if you were to dress up that is) and ended up with a birthday card.

I really love how this turned out, the dragon is from Stampin Dragon and I coloured her (yes her) with Copics, Im pleased with the finished product.

Please drop by the challenge blog so we can see how you are inspired by Halloween or Fall.

Im also playing with
