Fancy Fun Folds at Card Makin Mama's

This week at the Card Makin Mama's Challenge Blog we are playing with Fancy Fun Folds... we would love to see what you can come up with.  I had lots of fun with this card, I did a simple gate fold card and went a tad overboard on the decoration!
We were spoiled and given some lovely images from Crafty Sentiments Design to play with.

I used my brand spanking new Black Cat Cougar (affectionately named Monster) for the gate card and I got the file from Monika's.   I am really pleased with the finished product, its much more detailed than my usual cards... not sure what got into me!

Birthday wishes with Glitterbabe at Aud Sentiments

This week at Aud Sentiments we are running with the theme of Happy Birthday and we are happy to be sponsored by Glitterbabe.

I wanted to use this wonderful daisy image but I couldnt think of an effective way to use it on a card, so instead I used a project from years ago, and made a gift card holder.  The idea was originally given to me by Cheryl of My Cardmaking Haven.  I have changed the dimensions she originally used as hers was for movie vouchers or cash and this is for the little credit card sized gift vouchers.

Above is the finished holder and below you can see the inside of the envelope and the belly band that keeps it closed!

Very simple little project but a nice way to give a gift card.

What will you create for Aud Sentiments this week?  Dont forget to pop on over to the challenge blog and to Glitterbabe.

Cooking it Up with Katie

This week at Cooking it Up with Katie, we are wanting a pocket, pairs and punches!
This is my second attempt at this card as I wasnt happy with my first, I wanted to use this image on the project, especially for the lady that grooms my dog each month.  This is her Christmas Card.  The tag inside the pocket has the definition of Kindness on it, which i felt was appropriate!  We were sponsored by Digital Delights and this is the set we used.  I used a Kaiser pad for this project and I have finally realised that they are a wonderful too... the papers and embellishments make life so easy!

Remember the recipe
Pairs - I have pairs of borders, and pairs of embelishments
Punches - I punched my borders and my circles
Pocket

Im also going to play in
Make it Monday - anything goes (comment on someone elses projects)
Digi Days - Lots of Layers (ive got 5 layers)
Kaboodle Doodles - Lots of layers  (oops that was last weeks...) this week is doily... just for anyone that still wants to enter that challenge!

Copics

I decided to purchase some classes for copics, in an online class set up.  Copic Craze, and colouring by Debbie Hodge at Get it Scrapped.   The first part of the course is Copic Craze which is an introduction to copics, and the numbering etc.. ive had copics for nearly two years now and I never understood those numbers..  Well not being one to stand idly by with new information at hand I wanted to get started with colouring.   I coloured up this rose this morning and popped it on a card for my neice who is graduating year 12 today, aswell as celebrating her 18th Birthday this week.
I used the embossing folder and stamp from Stampin up and the sentiment is also a Stampin up stamp.
I was quite excited to learn that you can use distress inks as the stamping medium and not have your copics run... this is brilliant news for me, as look how nice the rose looks when not stamped in black or my new momento brown (yet to be opened).   I even used a whisper pen with distress to colour the edges of my cut image, as i didnt want any white showing from the sides...

Playing along in a few challenges here
and lastly I think my new favourite blog...
Make it Monday  where its Anything goes every week, a place to show off your creations to like minded people.

Cooking it up with Katie - Orange Ovals and Inside

Are you ready to get your creative juices working, Katie has asked us to use orange, ovals and also to decorate the inside of our projects this week.   We were sponsored by the lovely Meljen Digital Designs, whose images never fail to make me smile.  I need to work a little more on decorating the inside of cards, as this is a tad sparse.
There are two things ive noticed when visiting blogs lately, people decorating inside of cards and also, people printing their images using light colours so the lines are barely visible.. I like both things and im goign to try and work those things into future projects.

Here is my project for this week, the glossy accents is still drying...

So... what next?  Head on over to Cooking it up with Katie and read the challenge info for this week and grab some more motivation from the DT.   Dont forget to link up your projects so we can come and visit and comment.

Creatalicious - Anything Goes

Card Making Mama's - Punch it

This week at Card makin Mama's we were asked to use our punches.. no no.. not the physical kind but that sentence does motivate me to get back to the gym and do some boxing classes again..

I had a few ideas for this card and started with punching some flowers with the EK Funky flowers punches and then curling them up and distressing the paper a little to make them look a bit more dimensional.  My whole plan then changed and i remember how beautiful the doily punch from Martha Stewart is, so that was used aswell.   And although not a punch but a die cut i also used the doohickey tag from Magnolia and the nestabilities for the image.

I hope to see you all over on the Card makin Mama's Challenge Blog,  last week there were so many entries.. it was exciting to see so many people playing along and there was much to be inspired by!

This week we are sponsored by Design by Diana, check out the challenge blog to see what you could win and good luck!

Daisy Doodle at Aud Sentiments

This week at Aud Sentiments we are sponsored by Daisy Doodles and she gave us some beautiful images to work with.  I chose these lovely flowers which also came with a matching vine, but I didnt need it on this project.  The others DT choices are totally different so we really showcased the varied digital images that Daisy Doodles provide.  Our challenge was to create a Get Well card, I kept it very simple but I think its effective.  I used my Gazelle to achieve the print and cut of the image and overlaid it on some simple shapes to make it stand out some more and of course coloured it with copics my favourite thing.  Im really liking the idea of having the digi images overlay the underlay shapes, instead of having them inside the shapes, it adds a bit of interest.

Looking forward to seeing your creations.  Dont forget to pop over to the Aud Sentiments challenge blog and read all about the challenge, visit the other DT members and see what Daisy Doodles has to offer

16th Wedding Anniversary

Tomorrow is my 16th Wedding Anniversary and my husband and I are off to the Jenolan Caves NSW for the weekend.  He won a silent auction about a year ago for two nights, including dinner and breakfast for two, and a cave tour is also included.
I just went shopping and tried to find him a new wedding ring, something I wasnt thrilled about as it seems wrong to replace a ring, but his current ring is losing all its detail.  The jeweller had the solution.. he can redetail his actual ring instead of replacing it... phew.   This however led me to a new dilemma as what do I get him for his anniversary now...   I ended up with a lovely sterling silver.. or was it stainless steel... I cant remember, whichever one can't be engraved, with inlaid rose gold.
I have now come home and rearranged the craft room AGAIN and fingers crossed this is the last time i arrange everything...  I got myself a little tv and ditched my computer screen that was hooked up to laptop and i think the space is a little more usable!
Photos to come once I vacumn.

I also have visited Monika's site for a cutting file for an anniversary card... check this out... I love it.
Now that I am spoiled and I have a Black Cat Cougar and a Gazelle (I sold the Pazzles to a lucky new owners for a bargain price) I can cut some severely detailed items... I actually had both machines cutting, I did the red on the gazelle while I cut the black on the cougar.  The red behind the card is just to show the definition of the black cuts.

Cooking it up with Katie is going green and girly in groups!

This week at Cooking it up with Katie we are going green and girl and we want to see groups of 3.  I took that group rule to a new high.. with lots and lots of groups of three.  We are sponsored by Sassy Studios, who designed this lovely digi - Little Honeys Scarecrow.  Now she is a little too pretty to be a scarecrow dont you think!   She is a very detailed image and when I use her again I will print her larger so all the little hidden detail is clearer.

Jump on over to Cooking it Up and join in on the challenge, good luck and I look forward to seeing your creations!

Cooking it up with Katie - Purple, Ribbon Sentiment

I am very excited that Katie, from Cooking it up let me back onto her DT after a year off from craft.  I love her recipes and the challenges and she always keeps you thinking.  I am off to a 3 year olds birthday on saturday and she loves chocolate, so this little present is to go with her actual gift.. which I am yet to purchase.   I have already made this 3yr old a card so I wanted to think outside the box so to speak!
Although we are sponsored this week we got to use any image we owned in our personal collections... this was a hard choice as I own quite a few images!  I think this Meljen image suits the box perfectly.

This little box is only 7cm by 5cm by 2cm and I think I got the file from Paperthreads who have many die cutting files for sale.

This week we are sponsored by Gingerloft, please stop by their blog and have a look around.

Dont forget the recipe.  PURPLE, RIBBON and SENTIMENT and head on over to Cooking it up with Katie to link up!

I think it's appropriate to pop this in the Pile it on challenge this week for B is for anything starting with B. So my Birthday Box is off to be linked on this challenge too.
