Now onto this weeks challenge where I missed the brief totally with card one and then felt like i was in kindy for card 2.   Always our own worst critics huh.
I used a few packs for these cards, Picknix 1 and the Autumn Collection

Our Challenge is actually Autumn COLOURS!  I had the lemonade stand image printed up already for another idea (coming soon) but grabbed it and tried to watercolour... its not as easy as I anticipated.

A touch of excitement

So many good things this week to chat about, firstly I put colour to cardstock... "i know" I hope you were sitting down.... not only that but I enjoyed it.    Secondly Polkadoodles have come out with colouring pages, not one but two books.   With such varied designs that we are totally spoiled for choice.   Head on over HERE to find out more, there are two books so make sure you look around.

What else is happening...
Well we have a brand new challenge starting and its every girls favourite thing
Sparkle, Glitter and Bling.

So don your bling, throw your glitter in the air and get crafting.

I used the lovely Presents image from Hollybobs.  She comes coloured or as a digi awaiting your preferred medium to be added.  I used Heavy glitter card stock and some simple vinyl for the sentiment, as i wanted the image to be the focus.

I do hope to see you all over at the Challenge, Good Luck.

Polkadoodle, Use a die

Another week and another challenge, this week we are showcasing our dies.   Head on over to the challenge blog and check out the DT creations and then link up your own.  We look forward to seeing what you make.

I finally put colour to card stock and also used my Real Brush Pens to boot.   My dies were all from MFT.  With the real brush pens, i was really happy to find that the blending was so forgiving, you can see the gradient of colour and the blends, while it remained like true watercoloring.

My papers are from WP3 and WP4 and the cupcake image was from Picknix 1

Now its your turn to create.

All about shapes!

Have you been over to the Polkadoodles site recently and checked out the newest products and the special offers.  I strongly suggest you take a look around.  The download above is currently in my cart and I'm keen to get creating!  How awesome is it.
You can find it here

Polkadoodles Challenges Blog  has a new challenge up for you all and its All about your favourite shaped cards.

I originally was leaning to a circular card when it struck me that my real favourite card is actually a tag.   I ended up printing out lots of elements and then combined my two favourite shapes into one.

The yellow spotty background is from Work and Play 1 and then the wonderful Twiggy image is from the Twiggy Festive digital download.  I do love how you can mix and match kits, especially if you are like me and you can't make up your mind on what your theme is :).

Head on over to the blog and link up your makes. We look forward to seeing your favourite shapes

Shabby Chic with Polkadoodles

I had such fun using the wonderful papers from the Nordic Winter Picknix 3 collection for this card.   I traced the flowers from the kit and cut on plain papers to make the layered flower and added some stitching and gold embossing with stencilling for some added detail.     I even pulled out my distressing machine and made some noise on those card edges and added distress ink to all my edges and little pearls hidden around the card.

I think what I liked best about making this card was searching among the kit and using elements in a way that suited my chosen theme.   Little hidden swirls and leaves from within the pack that I may of not seen before now jump off my page.  It certainly pays to look further in the kits to see what lays within.

Things with Wings

I have a confession I got myself a new kit, Nordic Winter and am thrilled with the amount of digital coloured images within.  I have done a 360' turn around and instead of colouring images I am printing them out fully coloured and loving it.   These are one version of my xmas tags for the year, made by layering shapes, sentiments and images from Nordic Winter.

I used my new pix scan mat for the print and cut of the cards, such an easy process and to be sure there are no mistakes I put a tiny inline on the cut to ensure there are no nasty white edges.

If i had thought a little more I would of put a to:- and from:- on the cards saving another step come xmas time.

The theme of the challenge this week at Polkadoodles is Things with Wings!
Looking forward to seeing your creations.

New Release time at Polkadoodles

So excited to share my project for the Polkadoodles Challenge this week, using pre coloured images from the Octavia Frosted Winter Download, this Kit is brand new and filled with beauty.

My card background was plain cardstock that I embellished in texture paste for the snow effect and all of the little embellishments were printed from the kit, I love the sentiment, it was hard to choose which one to go with, so many choices.

I have started work full time and its such a pleasure to craft with the images pre coloured, you can create and make stunning cards without the sitting down to colour part, which sometimes takes me hours.

Please head to our challenge and play along, we all look forward to seeing your creations.

More Than one Fold

Another challenge for Polkadoodles and here I am with a simple little card using the lovely Cowgirl digi with the varied digital papers.
My second fold is hidden (and I can't find my good camera), but the card opens to display the clear shaker window.

I used my new FUSE tool to make the shaker and let me tell you thats so much easier than acetate and foam, glue and mess..

Anyway time for you to head on over to the challenge blog and enter your creations, we look forward to seeing  them.

Im also playing along in the Anything goes challenges at 4 Crafty ChicksCrafting with Attitude and Crafty Gals Corner

Its a new Polkadoodles Challenge and I'm using the lovely Serenity Princess who comes as a single digi or in the fabulous kit Serenity Fairy Wishes.  I used digi papers from varied kits.  I love how easy it is to mix and match.

Our theme for the challenge is to use Two patterned papers (or more).  We would love to see you over on the challenge blog with your creations.

Polkadoodles Serenity

Such a simple easy card using  the beautiful percoloured image from the Serenity Collection - Serenity Joyful.  She is also a an uncoloured Digi image.   The Collection as always has stunning digital papers and sentiments.  I printed on glossy to allow the colours to really pop.   Our theme is Embossing and I chose to use both dry embossing with folders and embossing paste with a stencil and Whipped Spackle Paste.    The coloured image allowed me to make this card up really swiftly.

Head on over to the challenge blog and link up your creations remember to emboss!

Frame it - Polkadoodles

I loved making this card with a photo booth layout using the fabulous Twiggy and Toots pre-coloured images.  I imported the images into my Silhouette Cameo and cropped them down to create a photo-booth layout.   The images being pre-coloured made this such a simple project.   I used glossy cardstock to make the images pop.   The background paper is also from the kit and it was really easy to colour match some elements to make it all come together.

Our theme this week is
Frame It

The challenge is up and running and you have another week to play along, be sure to check out the DT creations for this week and next.

All Dressed Up - Challenge time

Hi and Welcome to another inspiration post for All Dressed Up.   As Always our challenge is Anything Goes and the only rule is your must use an ADU image.

I used my MFT vertical dies to create this background with a CTMH sentiment.
The image is from the Three Little Autumn Girls stamp set at All Dressed Up.

Fathers Day challenge at Polkadoodles.

Have you seen the new Serenity Collection at Polkadoodles, I am busting to find some time to create with it.  The images are so so pretty and then there are loads of papers, sentiments and more.  Prepare to get creative.

But for today its a Polkadoodle kind of day today and I have to admit I was running late.  Cameo to the rescue with some digi papers and a sentiment from Work and Play 11 and then a copic coloured image to the rescue.  I used the Golfer from WP11 and added it to this cute little bag that will be filled up with lollies for my hubby.

Please head over to the challenge blog and link up your creations.  Our theme is "Fathers Day" and you have two weeks to play along.

Challenge for All Dressed Up

Another challenge at All Dressed up and I was lucky enough to choose the image Just Married.

I liked that it was casual and not a formal wedding image, which I find hard to colour up at times.
My nephew is getting married and this may end up being a card for him, however I may also make a fancy card, who knows!  He is right into cars and motors so this would make him smile.

I would love to see lots of creations linked up on the challenge.  Remember to use an All Dressed up Image on your project.   The Challenge blog states all the rules and there is a Freebie available for use if you aren't yet an owner of these images.

Be sure to check out the other Dressy Girls Blogs too, lots of inspiration to be found.

Polkadoodles Girly but no pink

At a recent retreat a friend and I were talking about cards for teachers and making this a little bit different and individual.  I coloured up the Teacher Digi from Work and Play 3 and combined her with some of the digi papers from the kit to create the cute little blackboard frame.

I really enjoyed making this up, especially playing with the red/auburn hair colouring and also teaching myself the blackboard technique even when i didnt have white pigment ink to play with.
The poor teacher has very thick glasses on, every time i added glossy to her glasses i bumped them, so it ended up 6 layers thick!

Please head over to the challenge blog and check out the current challenge and the DT inspiration.  Be sure to enter the challenge, we love to look at your creations.

ADU challenge time

Another card I made at a recent retreat, and big thanks to Mel who fussy cut all the fiddly bits for me.

Isn't this guy just a character, that grin just makes me smile.  I had some fun with this card, again using a polaroid die, trying to steer away from my normal white background.   Then i got some textured stamps out to mess up the background a bit, as that monkey looks like he has been causing mischief.

I would love to see lots of creations linked up on the challenge.  Remember to use an All Dressed up Image on your project.   The Challenge blog states all the rules and there is a Freebie available for use if you aren't yet an owner of these images.

Things with Wings at Polkadoodles

Polkadoodles has a brand new collection in the store, Work and Play 11 is filled with new characters, papers, cut files and more.  I hope to create a project with this kit for you by next week.

But this week I have been playing with some other cute characters.

I have been wanting to play with the Twiggy and Toots collection since it was released.   I was tempted to try the design sheets and to try a style thats new for me.   I loved how easy it was to create this card.  The colours are so vibrant and the images are too cute for words.   I printed my images onto gloss which gives it even more wow factor.

This is my first ever paper tole project and I can see it being a regular thing now.  I liked how I could choose how many layers to use but also that Nikky from Polkadoodles had guided the layers with what was on the design sheet.   You can purchase the whole kit or just the individual design sheet.   A perfect solution for those that either want a little or want a lot.  I do encourage you to search the store though as it has specials, sales and surprises within.

We all look forward to seeing your creations on the challenge blog with our theme of

A clean and simple card that I absolutely love.

Looking forward to seeing your creations over at the challenge blog

Polkadoodles - Anything but Square

The challenge at Polkadoodles at the moment is Anything but Square and the DT were asked to make a shaped card.   I was leaning towards using some of the papers from the Work and play kids on a cupcake card but decided to go with a circular card with a sports theme.   Work and Play 6 has a variety of images and sentiments to play with but I was taken with the soccer ball embellishment.

I traced the soccer ball and the sentiment and cut them both in vinyl.  The vinyl gives the soccer ball a shiny finish just like it would have in real life.

The digital image is also in the kit but can be purchased seperately too.

My husband is a Chelsea FC fan and there is a rumour that Chelsea may play a friendly game in Australia at the end of May.  All going well I can get some tickets.. fingers crossed.

Be sure to check out the new store site and have a good look around, there is a coupon tab that you should check regularly and also a freebies section
.  I would love to see some creations on the challenge blog using these freebies.
Be sure to look closely and if you pay close attention someone who is on the ball will be rewarded if they have a keen eye for detail ;)

The latest addition to the Polkadoodle kit family is the  Twiggy and Toots collection.

I had a little play with it during the week and created a totally digital card, printed on gloss.   My youngest daughter was sitting looking at it and asking how I made it shine.  If she only knew it was simply printed with the help of beautiful artwork from Polkadoodles.  I will definitely be using the percolated(got to love auto correct )  precoloured images again.  This is all one layered but some of the other DT have used these images like decoupage and they are stunning.

Spring Lady - The East Wind

Isn't this image just beautiful, I couldn't wait to colour her up.

I often get worried about colouring hair but have decided just to go with the flow, but amusingly in my haste to take a photo of this beauty I forgot to colour her lips, this has since been rectified!

My main goal with this card was to use sepia tones on the dress and I'm really happy with the end result.  Its been a long time since I put ribbon or flowers on a card so it was nice to go back to that style for a change.  And my prima papers saw the light of day.
